Prophet, priest, king and judge.e

I will raise up for them from among their brothers a prophet like you. I will put My words in His mouth. He will tell them all that I command Him. And to anyone who does not obey My words, that He will speak in My name, it will happen that I myself will hold him accountable.e

First of all, to remind all rebels that God still owns the law and determines its interpretation. He also had to reveal to us, according to the law, the way of our salvation, and then encourage us to confess ourselves as His before the world.d

To this day the Lord Jesus out of love announces to us, in the power of His Spirit, especially through the preachers of His Word and the covenant signs, that He is the purpose of the law and the way to the Father. And He invites us to trust, at all costs, only in Him to exempt us from the guilt and punishment we deserve.e 

You are a priest for eternity like Melchizedek.k

Convince us of God’s grace with bread and wine, sacrifice Himself once for our sin, and then intercede and plead for us with the Father.r

The Lord Jesus offered Himself as the final Passover lamb to remove all fear, shame and guilt from us. He represented us in the hell of the cross and now in heaven. There He presents His sacrifice to the Father as the valid price for the acquittal of all who trust in Him.m

Shout for joy, daughter of Zion! Make noise, daughter of Jerusalem! Your King will come for you. He is righteous and victorious.s

For the Lord our Judge, the Lord our Lawgiver, the Lord our King, He Himself will save us.s

Defeat sin, death, world and devil, protect us, apportion the spoils of His victory at His discretion, and finally condemn unbelievers.s

The Lord Jesus defeated death on the cross. His sacrifice as Son of God and innocent man atones for all our sin, which demanded eternal death. He lives and raises to life, through His Spirit, everyone who honors and confesses Him as his only Savior, as King, who one day will judge every thought, word, and deed.d
